The LifeSpan Center
Community generosity literally built the LifeSpan Center. The CCCoA had worked on a capital campaign for approximately 10 years to develop and see to fruition your LifeSpan Center – a multi-purpose, intergenerational facility “linking generations and enhancing lives.” As the Coles County Council on Aging strives to fully utilize the potential of this amazing facility, donors continue to provide unique gifts to expand the outreach of the LifeSpan Center.
Your LifeSpan Center is a hub of community activity and a desirable destination for area businesses, industries, agencies and community groups to gather. The increased space also provides areas for opportunities for a training site for area education, health care and social service providers. The building itself is handicapped accessible and includes: state of the art, 46 seat, stadium style movie theater, pool table, ping-pong table, foosball tables, mini putting green, beauty shop, American Cancer Society Wig Boutique, spa, exercise room, game room, dining room, outdoor patio with seating, commercial kitchen, professional grade kilns, library, large print reader, conference room, craft room, auditorium, class room, 15 computer stations in a cutting edge technology lab, Wi-Fi internet access, outdoor children’s playground area, and a consignment gift shop that features the talents of local crafters and artists. Your LifeSpan Center also houses all of the CCCoA offices. The Coles County Council on Aging sponsors numerous programs that receive funding locally, federally, and at the state level. In addition, private grants and donations of money, services, and commodities allow the CCCoA to serve more than 7,000 Coles County residents each year.
